Account Verification

What is the “Verified” badge?

At Hozuko, we strive to create a safe and trustworthy environment for everyone. One safety measure we've implemented is identity verification. It is currently optional, but we may adjust this policy based on user feedback and security needs.

When listing owners verify their identity, we mark their listings as verified and promote them by placing them before unverified ones.

🪪 How We Verify

We use Singpass, Singapore's trusted digital authentication system, for account verification. Singpass is widely recognized as a secure way to confirm a person’s identity as a Singapore resident, registered with the government.

⚠️ Does the “Verified” badge guarantee 100% legitimacy?

No. When dealing with “Verified” listings, there is a significantly lower chance that they are scams, but the risk is not zero.

While Singpass verification helps reduce scams, it does not eliminate all risks. Rental scams may still occur. For example, if someone’s Singpass credentials are stolen, their account could be misused.

📝 Tips for Staying Safe

  • Stay vigilant: report any suspicious activity to our team or local authorities immediately.
  • Avoid paying fees upfront: Never transfer money to secure a viewing or booking without verifying the property and owner.
  • Verify ownership: Request proof of ownership or residency if communicating with direct owners or outgoing tenants.
  • Research property agents: Search for their phone number on the CEA public register. You can also ask to meet them in person to verify their identity.
  • Take your time: If someone pressures you to act quickly, pause and evaluate the situation.
