Notifications on iOS

Hi! If you are on iOS and want notifications for incoming messages, read on.

Hozuko is not a mobile application. It is a web application. That means you access Hozuko using a browser instead of downloading it through an app store.

While Hozuko can do many things a mobile application can do, some functionalities might not be on par. Notification is one. There are some technical limitations and constraints as highlighted on this page.

To Receive Notifications, Add Hozuko to the Home Screen

Starting from iOS 16.4, web applications like Hozuko can show notifications. However, they must be first “added to the Home Screen.” So, if you don't want to miss out on new messages, follow the instructions below.

  1. Click the share button on your browser
    Click the share button
  2. Then, click 'Add to Home Screen'
    Click 'Add to Home Screen'

Technical Limitations on iOS Notifications

  1. Clicking on a chat notification may not open the corresponding chat page. When that happens, you need to navigate to the chat page manually.
  2. Clicking on a chat notification does not close all notifications. You would have to clear the notifications manually. Luckily, iOS allows you to clear all notifications with one click.
